About The Position

Working at Target involves helping families discover the joy of everyday life, guided by the company's values and culture. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team focuses on operations, process, and efficiency to ensure a consistent guest experience, managing product setting, inventory, pricing, and promotional signing across all General Merchandise areas. This team also handles Food & Beverage and Food Service, ensuring a fresh and food-safe environment. Experts contribute to efficient guest delivery through pick, pack, and ship fulfillment. The Reverse Logistics Expert role offers opportunities to gain knowledge in guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals (including sales trends, inventory management, and process improvement), and experience in executing daily/weekly workloads to support business priorities and sales goals.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders
  • Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessary
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  • Receive deliveries using the receive application and process all inbound store transfers to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Ensure Direct to Store Deliveries (DSD) and Advance Direct to Store Deliveries (ADSD) are accurately received following the outlined processes
  • Follow up daily to ensure all unacknowledged deliveries have been received
  • Accurately handle all freight shipments related paperwork; make shipping arrangements when necessary
  • Execute donations, Central Return Center (CRC), electronics recycling, transfer orders (store to store and sweeps), salvage and inventory removals (IRs) in compliance with all DOT regulations and best methods
  • Identify and handle environmentally sensitive item management (ESIM) in the reverse logistics area in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Complete the ESIM weekly log
  • Process vendor credits and damaged/defective items accurately and in a timely manner to minimize shortage and compliance risk; handle merchandise returns according to company and vendor guidelines
  • Maintain all invoices and documentation per record retention guidelines pertaining to deliveries, ESIM waste pickups and all outbound shipments
  • Operate powered equipment as necessary while unloading freight or moving merchandise
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs when assistance is required
