Work on special projects for the Revenue Integrity Department to comply with federal and state regulations as well as internal hospital policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration. Ten (10) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Consulting experience.
  • Coding or nursing credential (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, RN).
  • Experience in training, education or ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with various personnel on projects.
  • Meaningful experience with reimbursement methodologies for major payors.
  • In-depth understanding of the function of the Chargemaster as well as revenue, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • Good analytical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and micro computer applications.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of chargemaster experience.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of MS Excel experience.
  • Experience using SQL to extract data from established data warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned the responsibility of chargemaster management for Northside Hospital System including the following:
  • Coordinate projects within the department related to new regulations or changes in guiding policies.
  • Coordinate complex revenue modeling and analysis.
  • Assist Department Manager and other Management staff with research on coding and compliance regulations.
  • Assist with onboarding new departments and or groups within the hospital organization.
  • Assist with setting up policies, procedures, and charge sheets for the department as needed.
  • Coordinate education sessions on accurate coding, compliance & charging process.
  • Initiate audits as needed to monitor charge accuracy and compliance for all NSH entities.
  • Monitor charge compliance initiatives as they relate to both government and non-government payors.
  • Act as a subject matter expert with key new services/projects.
  • Help resolve larger issues that come up within specific departments Revenue Integrity supports.
