We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Support Specialist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. The Revenue Cycle Support Specialist is responsible for providing cross trained support in the following areas: Cash Posting, Claims Resolution, Credit Balance, EDI Billing, and Treasury. The Specialist will perform primary duties within legacy systems with new acquisitions and migrations, and will serve as a secondary resource as business needs dictate coverage.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year related healthcare experience preferred. Relevant education may substitute experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Post and balance all payments and contractual adjustments received in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Post all zero-pay Explanation of Benefits (deductibles)
  • Post appropriate denial and other reason codes
  • Appropriately research and/or forward any payment needing additional information
  • Conduct follow-up with payors, vendors, and clearinghouse on open insurance claims and balances in compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Resubmit primary and secondary claims
  • Identify potential claim issues and escalate to management
  • Review, identify, and resolve payor denials
  • Update patient accounts as appropriate and correct posting errors as appropriate
  • Ensure adjustments are posted timely and correctly for claims that need to be adjusted
  • Research assigned credit balances, identify reason for credit balance, and resolve in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with departmental policies and procedures
