McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Revenue Cycle Specialist to work in a hybrid role for the Revenue Cycle Management department at its headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health/SUD billing and denial management preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing, coding, and payer guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • CRCR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and resolve claim denials; initiate appeals and follow up to secure payment.
  • Analyze denial trends and root causes; recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with payer, state, and federal guidelines for behavioral health claims.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and pre-authorizations; Submit clean claims, reconcile payments, and address underpayments or payment discrepancies.
  • Stay current on payer requirements and behavioral health billing best practices.
  • Support patient account inquiries and provide billing statements.
  • Assist with insurance verification, collections, and AR follow-up.
  • Participate in staff training on denial prevention and RCM workflows.
