About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing multiple projects for the Revenue Cycle team by planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to timeline and budget. The Revenue Cycle Project Coordinator is responsible for developing and mantaining appropriate documentation for the project and communicating with leadership on progress and timelines. Responsible for compiling, analyzing, and validating electronic medical record and claim data to help leadership make well informed decisions based on trends identified in the healthcare system. The Project Coordinator is responsible for identifying issues/errors, tracking, escalation, risk identification and process improvement. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, 5 years of successful progressive experience in the area of information systems or revenue cycle, and 1 year of successful project management experience required
  • Working knowledge of healthcare operations in inpatient and/or ambulatory setting required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments
  • Demonstrate financial analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain project plans, issues lists, and communications required to efficiently run projects
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, creates and adheres to an agenda, and provide meeting minutes
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people to action without direct organizational control
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and project change management techniques
  • Proactively identifies process and procedure gaps and work with appropriate staff to develop tools to improve efficiencies
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle Operations including; healthcare industry changes, revenue cycle, insurance, managed care and integrated delivery systems

  • General familiarity with end user business practices or front-end practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to manage projects in a healthcare delivery environment
  • Provides consistent and comprehensive status reports, project updates, and cost analyses to leadership

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead projects with organizational skills, including the ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Self-confidence in interpersonal relationships with administrators, physicians, colleagues and staff is necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and concise manner is required
  • Must have strong formal presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills are necessary for initiation, recommendation, implementation, and follow-up of assigned projects
  • Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
  • Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Epic and SharePoint preferred
  • Project Manager Certification (e.g. PMP,ITIL, LEAN, or Six Sigma) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of multiple projects ranging in scope from low to high-complexity throughout the Revenue Cycle Departments
  • Creates, monitors, and updates project plans
  • Provides regular updates to teams, leaderships, and impacted departments.
  • Facilitate problem solving
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, PowerPoint presentations, and weekly status reports
  • Update communication tools: schedule, issues list, budget, risks
  • Facilitates and documents the flow of information between the project team and appropriate leadership
  • Identify and track issues, risks, and responsible parties through to resolution; escalates to management as appropriate
  • Applies project management and process improvement methodologies as part of the projects to ensure continuous improvement
  • Accesses and uses other expert resources when appropriate
  • Is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Makes timely, cost effective and sound decisions
  • Supports innovation and development of standards
