We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager who will lead and optimize the revenue cycle management function across ENT, allergy, and audiology operations. This individual will guide payer strategy, resolve systemic denial issues, and ensure monthly key performance indicators are being tracked and acted upon. The Revenue Cycle Manager will operate at a strategic level in managing payer relationships, developing appeal strategies, overseeing clearinghouse performance, and producing regular performance reporting tied to specific metrics. The RCM will collaborate with management and senior leadership to streamline processes and improve financial performance. They will also directly oversee department managers and supervisors. This is an onsite position located in our Albany office location.

  • Responsible for full ownership of the revenue cycle management function, providing strategic direction while ensuring financial strength and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Analyze otolaryngology billing procedures and contracts and provide recommendations to maximize services and resolve issues.
  • Lead the identification and resolution of recurring claim denials or underpayments, including collaboration with payers and providers to streamline documentation and coding practices.
  • Monitor revenue cycle KPIs, identify trends, and make data-backed recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Partner with finance team to provide insight into KPIs published by the team for internal reporting purposes.
  • Establish standard operating procedures for billing, collections, and patient communication workflows.
  • Develop payer relationships.
  • Develop and lead complex appeal strategies.
  • Directly supervise and coach department supervisors and managers, which will include leadership, performance management, employee relations, time keeping, recruitment, and terminations.
  • Utilize expertise in ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to ensure accurate billing and claims submissions and appeal of denials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on matters involving revenue cycle.
  • Read and interpret medical contracts, addressing carve-outs and proposing effective solutions.
  • Analyzes superbills and related documentation and make appropriate recommendations to ensure revenues are maximized and legality is maintained.
  • Provide recommendations for policies relating to management/oversight of adjustments, payment plans and bad debt adjustments.
  • Prepares and communicates recommendations individually and through trainings on best practices in billing, coding and compliance.
  • Primary oversight of the clearinghouse and other key software and vendor relationships that support the revenue cycle process.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, Billing, Coding, and Contracts compliance, and/or combination of these areas, within an Ear, Nose and Throat/Otolaryngology and Allergy and Audiology practice required.
  • Thorough knowledge of CMS procedures, DME and medical contracts, and codes in ENT and Audiology settings.
  • Exposure to supervising multi-level RCM teams.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA requirements.
  • Experience with EMR, EHR and appointment scheduling software.
  • Proven success in training staff at all levels and a passion for facilitating continuous improvement.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail and organizational skills and superior communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical skill set with the ability to work comfortably with Excel-based systems.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Affiliation with AAPC and ASCENT expected.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Certificate from American Health Information Management Association or Associate’s degree in health information technology, a plus.
