About The Position

The Rev Cycle Support Clerk I position is a full-time role based at the Oak Brook Support Center. The primary responsibilities include reviewing, preparing, indexing, and scanning documents related to patient accounts. The clerk will also handle inbound and outbound mail, ensuring proper sorting and distribution, and will be responsible for updating address corrections on returned mail. Quality assurance of documents is crucial, as is providing front desk reception coverage when needed. The role requires effective communication with the Revenue Cycle Support Lead to address any workflow challenges and adherence to organizational policies and ethical conduct.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience in a healthcare or office setting.
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to listen and understand information presented verbally and in writing.
  • Good customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remain resilient under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read, enter, and retrieve information from multiple patient accounting systems.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately review, prepare, index, and scan documents at patient and batch levels.
  • Open, sort, and distribute all inbound and outbound mail received through various sources.
  • Review, update, and document address corrections on returned patient mail.
  • Ensure quality assurance of documents received, ensuring they are legible and indexed correctly.
  • Provide front desk reception coverage as needed, greeting visitors and directing them appropriately.
  • Complete all needed printing and/or document handling for various Revenue Cycle teams.
  • Communicate openly with Revenue Cycle Support Lead regarding issues and workflow challenges.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, guidelines, and productivity standards.
