About The Position

Meyer Distributing is seeking a Returns Inspector to join their team in Jasper, IN. Meyer Distributing is a comprehensive wholesale distributor specializing in automotive, RV/towing, outdoor living, and marine products, operating with over 85 locations nationwide. Meyer Logistics, a transportation company with a fleet of 500+ trucks, supports the distribution network. The core responsibility of the Returns Inspector is to examine returned products to determine their suitability for return to inventory or if they need to be sent back to the vendor.

Ability to give special attention to detail required
Must have ability to identify letters and numbers
Must have computer and data entry skills
Must have ability to problem solve
Must have the ability to make timely decisions
Must adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
The individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction
Must have ability to orally communicate with co-workers, supervisors and other employees

Nice To Haves

High School graduate or equivalent preferred
One year of previous warehouse experience preferred

Responsibilities

Inspect returned product and determine if complete order was returned for quality
Re-package and place the quality returned items back into inventory if product is able to be resold
Keep accurate records on RGA number and details of product’s condition
Perform minor repairs to quality items if needed
Keep warehouse and work area clean and organized
Wear protective toed shoes and work in a safe manner
All other duties as assigned
