About The Position

As the Returns Bay Clerk you are responsible for, but not limited to, the accurate processing of returned assets or product while unloading/loading trailers in a safe manner. You utilize designated company computer systems, record required information that generate timely billing, and interact with truck drivers in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: One (1) year distribution, warehouse or selection experience
  • Preferred: MHE experience (Electric pallet jacks such as center riders or long forks; forklifts)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the AS400 program in AMOV to scan all assets and/or products off of trailers for the purpose of providing an account of the item
  • Verify the accuracy of driver paperwork against what is actually unloaded from the trailer. Identify the required temperature zone of unloaded products as stated with the driver load diagram and loads the item in a damage free manner.
  • Working in a collaborative manner with other departments to communicate any discrepancies; aligning on effective conflict resolution practices
  • Properly constructing a pallet utilizing the interlocking case method, attaching selection labels to each in the correct position, securing appropriately with plastic wrap while maintaining product quality at all times
  • Accurately slots sellable returned product in the warehouse of origin using the BUDS function of the system and documents that information appropriately on specified forms
  • Processes salvage product for key customers on designated forms and loads it properly
  • Ensures that all perishable refrigeration units are set at their appropriate temperature and monitors their proper function, immediately communicating any discrepancies
  • Scans, loads, and completes all cardboard bales correctly and completes all accompanying paperwork accurately and legibly; understands how to use the provided scales with cardboard weights
  • Compacts all plastic and cardboard safely and efficiently and loads according to specified guidelines, being accurate and timely with the appropriate documentation
  • Supplies other departments with daily asset needs such as e-jacks, load straps, ice-cream bins, bulk-heads; manages the proper charges of e-jacks for daily use
  • Maintains all established productivity standards for the position, performs value-added work at all times, and proactively seeks direction from one in charge during slow times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
