About The Position

As a part of our team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely handling all aspects of the defectives/returns process and safeguarding company assets. This position reports to the Assistant Manager or Store Manager. Responsibilities

  • Process defective returns that are sold through the check stand and returned to the store due to a defect by looking up the product using the vendor log and determining whether the product is a write-off or if the vendor needs to be contacted for return information.
  • Process damaged product that is on the floor but has not been sold by issuing an in-store credit return for those defective items; use vendor log to determine if defective product is a write-off or if the item will be returned to vendor.
  • Contact vendors for defective/credit items via phone, email and fax and ship defective products back to vendor when necessary.
  • Keep vendor logs updated by continually updating log as the information is received from vendors.
  • File returns/defective paperwork.
  • Send in repairs for customers for: Leatherman, Gerber, Fishing Rods, Firearms, and electric fence chargers.
  • Make sure return paperwork is properly completed when sending in repairs for customers and that repair/shipping cost is accurate by putting orders into POS so that cashiers can accurately ring the price at checkout.
  • Watch for and recognize potential theft, and take appropriate steps to prevent, report, or handle these situations.
  • Recognize safety and security risks and remedy the situation and alert proper personnel.
  • Recognize safety hazards to self, other employees and customers by performing duties accurately, safely and securely and alerting appropriate person to problems or risks.
  • Uses appropriate lifting techniques and abide by safety policy.
  • Input Stihl and Honda warranty paperwork by going directly to the Stihl and Honda site after a customer makes a purchase and inputting their warranty information.
  • Assist with processing E-com orders by printing orders, running them through POS, pulling and shipping orders directly from the Store and to the customer.
  • Assist with incoming phone calls and customer service as needed.
  • Backup cashier and receiver as needed.
  • Performs any other duties as directed or assigned by supervisors.
