Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand plan documents (Basic Plan Document, Adoption Agreement, Summary Plan Description (SPD), Amendments, Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) and annual notices)
  • Understand the annual lifecycle of plan (data collection, eligibility, compliance testing, trust accounting and Form 5500 preparation and filing)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial services operations' environment required
  • Broad knowledge of the retirement plan industry, willingness to obtain ASPPA QKA designation or NIPA equivalent
  • Experienced with ASC software a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact for retirement plan sponsors and investment advisors
  • Build strong relationships with clients and advisors through delivery of our value propositions to ensure satisfaction and longevity
  • Ensure ongoing client satisfaction and client's willingness to be a reference
  • Utilize strong communication and service skills to ensure customer delight
  • Know and understand Definiti's business model, strengths and product offerings
  • Represent the company on client calls and in client meetings, as needed
  • Work with clients on a periodic basis to 'check in' (gather census data, signed amendment, provide industry news, etc.)
  • Scrub Census, review eligibility, asset reconciliations and tax filings
  • Communicate compliance results, calculations and tax filings
  • Assist clients with day-to-day questions pertaining to their plan
  • Maintain knowledge regarding industry trends and legislative/regulatory requirements and changes
  • Ability to accurately interpret and apply plan document provisions
  • Have a working knowledge of custodian websites and processes
  • Determine and calculate Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
