About The Position

The Retirement Plan Consultant serves as a key member of the retirement advisory team, supporting the firm’s mission by delivering investment oversight, fiduciary guidance, and operational execution for retirement plans. This role combines investment due diligence, committee meeting participation, sponsor relationship management, and coordination of plan deliverables. The Consultant works closely with the firm’s Investment Committee, TPAs, recordkeepers, and internal teams to ensure plans are monitored prudently and serviced with excellence. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can independently manage client relationships, maintain high documentation standards, and effectively communicate complex investment concepts to plan sponsors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field (preferred)
  • FINRA Series 65 license required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in retirement plan advisory, investment consulting, or related financial services field required
  • Experience presenting to retirement plan committees required
  • Strong investment analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain investment performance and fiduciary concepts clearly to plan sponsors
  • High attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Working knowledge of retirement plan platforms, benchmarking tools, and RIA systems
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and alignment with biblical stewardship principles
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic and growing retirement advisory environment

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ERISA fiduciary standards preferred
  • Willingness to obtain professional designation such as AIF® or CPFA® within 24 months required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quarterly due diligence and performance monitoring of participant-directed investment options
  • Prepare and deliver investment monitoring reports to plan sponsors
  • Support fund selection and replacement recommendations in alignment with each plan’s Investment Policy Statement (IPS)
  • Implement approved fund changes and coordinate related paperwork with TPAs and recordkeepers
  • Perform fee benchmarking and cost analysis
  • Participate in prospect meetings to explain the investment and fiduciary process
  • Serve as primary or secondary contact for assigned retirement plan sponsors
  • Lead or co-lead semi-annual retirement plan committee meetings
  • Coordinate follow-up action items and maintain fiduciary documentation standards
  • Support onboarding of new retirement plans and ensure adherence to firm processes
  • Participate in internal Investment Committee meetings and contribute research insights
  • Ensure timely delivery of required monitoring reports and plan-level deliverables
