About The Position

The position is responsible for the formulation and maintenance of retirement plan documentation, specifically focusing on 401(K) plans. The role involves interpreting key legislation that impacts the retirement services business function and client base, ensuring effective communication both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required, education plus experience.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of ERISA Law and related regulatory guidance from IRS/DOL.
• Industry Designations (QKA, QPA, CPC).
• Advanced degrees (JD, MBA).
• Understanding of Recordkeeping requirements for qualified plans.
• Understanding of plan document requirements.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and identify solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing plan documentation for new clients to identify provisions, features, and benefits.
• Identify issues with plan documentation that could lead to qualification problems and address them with clients.
• Create new plan documents and client account agreements for new business clients, including ancillary service schedules.
• Maintain plan documents for assigned clients in response to legislative or regulatory changes.
• Create and maintain client-requested plan document or service agreement amendments.
• Consult with clients on plan design and operational questions.
• Identify, research, and communicate regulatory compliance issues for assigned clients based on applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain familiarity with applicable laws and regulations and communicate new laws to clients.
• Consult with various business groups about ERISA issues affecting their functions.
• Work on projects to ensure ERISA compliance for new processes, products, procedures, and regulatory changes.
• Research and resolve ERISA questions from internal clients through ERISA Mailboxes.
