About The Position

This role will report directly to the Director of Retirement and Financial Wellbeing with no direct reports. This position is responsible for conducting analytical tasks to support the daily management of the Employee Savings Plan and Non-Qualified Plans, ensuring data accuracy and effective plan administration. Additionally, the role provides project support for financial wellbeing initiatives, including employee communications, facilitating internal educational programs for employees, and data analysis and evaluation. The candidate will develop a comprehensive understanding of Southern Retirement Programs, Total Rewards, and retirement laws (such as ERISA). Additionally, they will build partnerships with payroll and assist Operating Companies by researching and addressing retirement-related needs and challenges. The position will be in Atlanta. Currently the Retirement Team is hybrid with 3-4 days in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Accounting, or related field required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in 401K administration required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required
  • Strong MS Excel and Presentation skills are required

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidate will have Pension administration experience
  • Experience working with 20,000+ employee population preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct biweekly payroll processes and reconciliations to ensure accurate administration of the 401(k).
  • Serve as the vendor manager for the 401(k) provider, overseeing plan strategies, monitoring legislative developments, and facilitating an engaging employee experience.
  • Support the development of employee communications aimed at improving program utilization.
  • Analyze data related to retirement program usage and identify opportunities for process improvements.
