About The Position

The Retirement Benefits Analyst at Spire is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of various retirement and savings programs. This role involves processing 401k contributions, ensuring compliance with retirement plan regulations, and providing support to employees regarding retirement-related issues. The analyst will work closely with retirement committees and manage vendor relationships while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a similar business discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in qualified and non-qualified retirement plan administration.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate skills with Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ADP, Fidelity, and SuccessFactors.
  • Ability to work with and manage strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly 401k contributions and reconcile files with payroll contributions.
  • Execute and monitor secure data feeds to off-site benefits and third-party administration vendors for all DB, 401(k), and deferred compensation plans.
  • Conduct annual compliance activities including non-discrimination testing, 5500's, PBGC filings, and plan audits.
  • Provide support to employees on issues related to 401(k) and pension plans.
  • Research and prepare documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws, including ERISA.
  • Support multiple Spire retirement committees, including the Retirement Plans Committee and 401(k) Investment Review Committee.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and set up payment requests.
