But for our customers, the journey doesn't end at the checkout page—it’s just beginning. We are looking for a Retention Marketing Specialist who is a true master of the Klaviyo ecosystem. You aren't just sending emails; you are a "Retention Architect" who understands how to use data, segmentation, and consumer psychology to move people. If you obsess over open loops, revenue attribution, and building automated flows that feel like a 1-on-1 conversation, we want you to lead our digital "flow." The Role: What You’ll Own This is a high-impact, technical role focused on maximizing Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) through sophisticated email and SMS strategies.

Requirements

The Experience: 5–8+ years of dedicated experience specifically in Email Marketing, Retention, or Lifecycle Marketing.
Klaviyo Mastery: You are a 9 or 10 out of 10 in Klaviyo . You understand SKU-level triggers, predictive analytics, and how to maintain a pristine sender reputation.
The Conversion Writer: You have a "Direct Response" mindset. You know how to create curiosity and drive action without relying solely on discounts or sales language.
The Technical Specialist: You are comfortable with Shopify integrations and understand how to use data (GA4, Shopify Analytics) to diagnose why a flow isn't converting.
The Local Presence: You are based in the Sacramento area and are comfortable collaborating in our office at least one day a week.
Primary Engines: Klaviyo & Shopify (Required)
Channels: Email & SMS (Attentive/Postscript experience a plus)
Analytics: GA4, Looker Studio, or SQL experience
Project Management: Wrike or similar tools

Responsibilities

Architect the Klaviyo Ecosystem: You will build, audit, and optimize our entire automated lifecycle—from high-converting Welcome Series and Abandoned Carts to complex Win-back and Replenishment flows.
Master the Direct Response Message: You will write compelling, "human" copy. You understand that in retention, a perfectly timed plain-text email with a world-class hook often beats a flashy HTML design.
SMS Strategy Lead: You will own our SMS channel, ensuring mobile touchpoints are used for high-urgency and VIP engagement rather than just duplicating email content.
Data-Driven Optimization: You won’t just report on "Open Rates." You will own revenue attribution, cohort analysis, and list hygiene for a database of 250k+ subscribers.
Rigorous Testing: You will maintain a constant A/B testing roadmap, testing psychological triggers, send-frequency, and deep segmentation logic to identify what truly motivates our audience.
