About The Position

Are you an enthusiastic Fine Wine and/or Spirits professional? Do you take pride in sharing your love of wine and spirits? We're looking for you! K&L Wine Merchants is excited about our expansion into the NY market and we're passionate, knowledgeable customer focused Fine Wine and Spirits Sales Associates to join our newly launched Manhattan store. As a member of this team you will be the face of K&L's renowned expertise, guiding customers through our exceptional selection of wines and spirits. This role blends product knowledge with genuine hospitality, helping customers discover new favorites while delivering an outstanding in-store experience.

Requirements

Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for wine and/or spirits and hospitality.
At least 1-3 years of experience in food/beverage/hospitality highly desired.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs on a regular basis.
Must be able to stand and walk around the store and warehouse 7-8 hours each day.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, as well as Word and Excel.
Proficient with web browser, POS and email applications.
Position is 40 hours per week and will include weekends.

Nice To Haves

WSET or equivalent education and certification, preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interact well with customers and maintain strong customer relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Advantage will be given to people with a background in wine and previous retail experience.

Responsibilities

Engage customers with warm, knowledgeable service to ensure exceptional experience.
Provide informed recommendations across a wide range of wines and spirits to our customers.
Maintain up to date knowledge of products, producers, regions and industry trends.
Working with Store Managers and our warehouse team, ensure the sales floor is clean, organized and fully stocked with product.
Assist with in-store tastings, educational events and promotional activities.
Collaborate with store leadership and colleagues to meet sales and service goals.
Accurately process all types of retail transactions: (General Sales, Pre-Arrival Orders, Wine Club Enrollments, Shipping Orders, Customer Profile Updates)
Support store opening and closing procedures.
Support customer order pick-ups and will-calls.
Review wines for our Website and Monthly e-Newsletter
Attend staff education sessions and on/offsite events.
