Review product against paperwork to check for order completeness and accuracy • Assist in the loading and unloading of furniture and accessories on and off trucks which includes operating power equipment on occasion. Occasionally move up to 350 pounds on a two wheel dolly • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. Other duties as required by management, to include product prep, reuse or recycling of revenue commodities, 5S responsibilities, attending company required training and committee participation • Warehouse I associate will be responsible for scanning furniture when receiving, moving, or loading into the computer system. Receive returned furniture from the delivery trucks and place in the correct locations. Ensure that all product to be sent back to vendor is properly packaged and all corresponding paperwork is attached SCOPE & IMPACT: Performance of the tasks as outlined for this position are essential to the successful daily operation of the RDC. Execution of outbound tasks within required time frames is critical in meeting company commitments to customers, dealer partners, 3rd party delivery providers and shareholders. Timely and accurate receipt and stocking of inbound product impacts inventory accuracy, order fulfillment and scheduling of delivery and distribution. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • 0-2 years of experience • High School Diploma or GED preferred• Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: • OSHA Certification SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: none PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Nearly continuously stand, balance, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs. Often repetitive hand motion, walking, bending, stooping, listening, talking, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, and operate industry equipment. Nitty Gritty • Assist with the loading and unloading of furniture and accessories • Assist with furniture prep, floor moves, and floor sets • Assist with tagging • Maintain lighting and other floor standards • Assist with receiving and storage of furniture and accessories • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized stockroom and retail store • Comply with all safety regulations established by the company • Work in a team atmosphere and help when your team is in need • Other duties, as assigned Job Requirements Below are some of the requirements, constructed as a reflection of our current, most successful Porters: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Required Licensure: Valid Driver's License • Ability to move 350lbs and lift up to 200lbs for several hours consecutively. This will be required when putting away and pulling furniture • Experience in delivery, warehousing, receiving, issuing, packing, shipping and/or storage of goods a plus. • A thorough understanding of the proper methods and procedures used in safe receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping and delivery. Basic knowledge of inventory procedures. • Self-management to demonstrate self-control and the ability to manage time and priorities • Ability to safely operate powered equipment and tools • Teamwork: Ability to communicate and work effectively and productively with others • Goal orientation: Energetically focuses efforts on meeting a goal, mission or objective • The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
