About The Position

As a Retail Warehouse Associate, you are expected to uphold and actively support the vision of New Horizons Thrift Stores as communicated by Thrift Store Management and your immediate supervisor. Through collaboration and teamwork, you will help carry out this vision within your area of responsibility and influence. The Retail Warehouse Associate is a motivated, dependable team member responsible for treating guests with care and patience, receiving donations, load and unload trucks, and maintaining a neat and clean workspace. Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties.

  • Operation and Control- Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Internet- Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail).
  • Navigation- Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.
  • Certified Forklift Operator New Horizons Ministries will provide training as required if not experienced or trained in that field.

Responsibilities

  • greet guests with a friendly welcome and assist them with loading and unloading used merchandise and furniture.
  • provide products for departments as needed
  • Load and unload product onto delivery trucks using a forklift and/or pallet jack
  • Load and unload used merchandise and furniture for guests
  • Keep the warehouse and furniture area clean and organized
  • clean, organize, and price used furniture
  • follow store closing procedures when working a shift at closing time.
