As a Retail Team Member - Events Coordinator at Michaels, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including kids' birthday parties, within the store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. You will deliver friendly customer service by assisting customers in shopping and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience. Additionally, you will complete operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold our Brand Promises.

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects.
  • Perform face painting and other activities during events.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons.
  • Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails and making phone calls.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
  • Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner.
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities.

  • Excellent people skills.
  • Experience working with children and children's events.

  • Retail and/or customer service experience required.
