About The Position

As a Retail Team Member at Pop Up Grocer, you will play a vital role in the operations of our unique grocery store, which is designed for a new generation of shoppers. Your primary responsibilities will focus on back of house operations, while also providing essential support in front of house activities. This position is crucial for ensuring that our store runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to our mission of spreading joy through experiences of discovery. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt and display of merchandise. This includes inspecting and verifying incoming shipments, recording inventory data, and maintaining a clean and organized receiving area as well as the sales floor. You will manage stock by receiving product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy, and noting any discrepancies, including damaged merchandise. Proper storage of both perishable and shelf-stable food items in accordance with NYC Department of Health regulations is also a key responsibility. You will sort and organize merchandise in the backroom, maintaining inventory accuracy through regular counts and audits. Ensuring that all merchandise available for sale is properly represented on the sales floor, labeled, and priced according to the planogram is essential. Additionally, you will assist customers by locating items, suggesting products of interest, and retrieving merchandise from inventory as needed. Effective communication with the Store Manager regarding grocery needs, adjustments, and any problems is expected. Cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and garbage disposal, will also be part of your daily tasks, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
