About The Position

The Retail Team Lead is responsible for maximizing sales and profits through the development of a quality sales organization and appropriate merchandise content within an area of the store. The Retail Team Lead also follows and enforce all company procedures and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail management and 6 months of supervisory experiences is preferred.
  • Using effective communications skills, including writing and verbal to convey information as appropriate for the need of the audience.
  • Fluent in English
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to use a calculator and cash register.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Selecting and using training/ instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situations when learning or teaching new things.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implementation of solutions.
  • Understanding and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook systems, along with other computer functions.
  • Being a good team leader and a team builder.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention.
  • Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, and store merchandising.
  • Continually able to walk up and down a staircase, carrying boxes, products, and other necessary store-related items.
  • Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean.
  • Ability to safely lift boxes up to 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent, high level of customer service within an area by participating in training and evaluation of associates’ selling performance.
  • Review advertising calendar and maintain floor presentation to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Build enthusiasm and awareness of promotional events amongst selling staff.
  • Maintain an open and positive relationship with the store management team.
  • Ensure company/store policies and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to accordingly.
  • Address concerns with employees as needed and follow up with managers.
  • Maintain employee attitude and morale by recognizing co-worker’s performance and service; inspire employees so that each person contributes to the productivity of the store.
  • Provide feedback to the manager to help support the development of staff.
  • Delegate daily tasks appropriately and effectively.
  • Process damaged and defective goods in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Protect company assets by following and loss prevention procedures; train staff on same.
  • Model and ensure all policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are communicated effectively to employees, maintained and consistently followed.
  • Work as a part of a high-performing team to achieve the store’s sales plan. Supports sales-driving initiatives, creates daily agendas, and directs selling activities as (MOD).
  • Complete inventory transactions including but not limited to, receiving, MOS, and RARs.
  • Work hand in hand with the production Lead.
  • Performs all opening/ closing duties, including cash reconciliation, bank deposits, safety inspections, etc.
