Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Retail Manager, the Supervisor will oversee the daily work of Retail Attendants. When the Retail Manager is not present, assume the responsibilities of the daily operations. Train and monitor performance of Retail Attendants with bi-monthly Standards Testing approved by the Retail Manager. Assist retail attendants on the floor of all shops whenever necessary. Monitor and consistently maintain store needs, including new merchandise, restocking, ensuring stores are stocked with shopping bags and supplies. Review and sign off on retail attendants Daily Check List. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process. Qualifications: Assume total responsibility of “Kiawah’s Market and Café” (an eat-in or take out outlet featuring daily specials and a wide variety of grocery items, personal items, newspapers, beer, wine and logo apparel) in the General Manager and Assistant Managers’ absences. Take the lead role with staff, providing directives and decisions regarding the overall operation. Must be passionate about food and beverage, as well as customer service. Must be a problem-solver with a strong work ethic and prominent leadership skills. Must understand that customer satisfaction always takes priority, but efficient restaurant operations make it possible. Must be an experienced leader with a goal to move up in the management field. Must be able to organize, communicate, and lead the team through a successful shift. Ensure each employee follows established side work guidelines to exact specifications. Properly follow all processes that are in place as well as all rules and regulations in employee handbook. Properly rotate all food and drink products in stock. Clean and maintain equipment properly. Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation / health regulations and resort requirements. Ensure that all guest special requests are met. Contribute to the growth and success of the team. Assist in conducting staff and daily pre-shift meetings. Assist staff in food and beverage knowledge. Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. Must be able to prioritize, organize, delegate work, and follow through with assigned tasks. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Responsible for keeping a clean, neat, and organized work environment. Responsible to motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team. Must be able to direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections where needed. Use all senses to ensure quality standards are met at all times. Uphold the core values, and policies and procedures of the resort. All other duties as assigned. Expectations & Responsibilities: Associates degree, or equivalent life experience in a supervisory role, preferred. Minimum 21 years of age required to be able to mix and serve alcohol. Minimum of 2 years Food Service experience required; one year of previous Supervisory / Management experience highly preferred. Must be able to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to communicate in English with guests, coworkers, and management to their understanding is required. Must work both independently and in a team environment. Must be able to pass a background check. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record is required. Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift minimum weight of 20 lbs. across short-medium distances. Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift. Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. Must be able to reach, bend, lift, and carry trays / ovals / boxes / etc. as needed.
