About The Position

The Retail Store Team Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient operation of the retail store by leading and supporting the sales team in achieving business goals. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, enforcing store policies, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Team Lead will oversee daily store activities when scheduled as manager-on-duty, including inventory maintenance, loss prevention, and compliance with legal requirements such as age verification. By collaborating closely with team members and management, the Team Lead drives brand loyalty and enhances the overall shopping experience for customers. Ultimately, this role ensures that the store operates profitably while upholding the company’s values and standards.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of fostering brand loyalty and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability in theft prevention and understanding retail theft tactics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, including authentic storytelling and leadership talents.
  • Demonstrated capacity to remain positive, calm, and confident in stressful situations.
  • 20-34 hours worked per week, with weekends, nights, and holidays required.
  • Must be regularly available to be scheduled for at least four weekend shifts.
  • Key holders must have generally open availability to accommodate callouts and management time off.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, climb, reach, bend, and move items up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, including organizing and storing merchandise and exchange policies.
  • Training or certification in loss prevention or retail security.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support the retail sales team to meet and exceed sales targets and customer service expectations.
  • Organize and maintain store inventory, ensuring products are properly stored, displayed, and replenished in a timely manner.
  • Implement and enforce exchange policies, loss prevention measures, and protocols for retail theft to safeguard store assets.
  • Conduct age verification and identify illegal moves to ensure compliance with legal and company regulations.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members to resolve problems and improve store operations.
