About The Position

The Retail Store Specialist at Ocean State Job Lot is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring effective merchandising within the store. Requirements

• Prior retail merchandising, customer service, and/or cashier experience is preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills, along with legible handwriting and good communication skills, are required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability to work as needed, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service through the T.R.E.A.T. model, creating a welcoming environment.
• Assist customers with inquiries, locate items, and complete purchases accurately.
• Handle complex point-of-sale transactions and perform advanced functions as needed.
• Promote company-wide customer initiatives such as donations and loyalty programs.
• Maintain visually appealing displays and restock assigned areas according to company guidelines.
• Train and coordinate assigned associates, managing breaks in accordance with policy.
• Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to store leadership.
• Ensure a safe and organized environment through proactive maintenance and cleaning.
• Handle daily damages and returns following established procedures.
