About The Position

Orvis is seeking a dynamic RETAIL STORE MANAGER who appreciates the outdoor lifestyle and enjoys outfitting customers for great adventures. The Retail Store Manager will create a store atmosphere that is welcoming and inclusive, recruit, develop, and encourage a team of associates to inspire customers to love the adventure and wonder in nature. This role serves as a brand ambassador and leads by example in a fast-paced retail environment, setting the tone for the team to consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience. The manager will demonstrate core values of surprising and delighting customers, taking pride in products, and protecting what we love.

Requirements

  • Friendly and inviting personality.
  • Ability to build relationships and demonstrate care for customers.
  • Confidence in observing and coaching selling opportunities.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn business programs.
  • Ability to solve problems with sound judgment.
  • Excellent retail business acumen including selling skills.
  • Strong background in payroll planning and scheduling.
  • Ability to reach, move, and handle merchandise up to 30 pounds.
  • Stamina to execute floor sets.
  • Ability to lead the sales floor for extended periods.

  • Specialty retail experience.
  • College degree preferred.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace.
