About The Position

S. Clyde Weaver is looking for an experienced full-time Retail Store Manager to join our store leadership team in our East Petersburg retail store and cafe. This role will be focused on the administrative and planning side of store operations. This position will be responsible for POS system management, purchasing and inventory management, forward planning, P&L responsibility, training and development, and creating an excellent customer experience.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in retail management, in the food industry a plus.
  • Computer skills, including strong knowledge in retail management and POS systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of management best practices.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and customer service principles.
  • ServSafe certification will be required within six months of hire and the company will reimburse all costs.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively managing retail store staff schedules for projected staff demand, which includes posting work schedules two weeks in advance.
  • Proactively monitor and plan staff time off requests to ensure adequate coverage in the store.
  • Work with the retail store leadership to identify any position/staffing changes or job openings as needed.
  • Work with Human Resources Manager to interview prospective job candidates for retail store and production positions.
  • Responsible for ongoing process improvement and management.
  • Prepare written communication for store staff as well as communicate any store issues/concerns to leadership team in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for day-to-day oversight of store operations.
  • Work with POS committee to ensure information in the system is accurate.
  • POS data analysis for effective decision making.
  • Responsible for updating the POS database and deleting/entering items/SKUs as needed.
  • Provide POS training to new hires, and refresher training, to current staff as needed.
  • Responsible for seasonal resets in the store as well as updating store displays for seasonality, etc.
  • Ensure an accurate store planogram is completed and that all employees adhere to this planogram.
  • Work with retail store leadership to plan events in the store and ensure all aspects of the events are managed (I.e. staffing, sampling, additional inventory or supplies ordered in a timely manner, social media presence).
  • Work with retail store leadership to create and execute sampling plans and ensure samplings are staffed.
  • Work with the retail store leadership on store merchandising, which includes, but is not limited to, selecting, developing, pricing, and displaying products.
  • Oversee the inventory management process, ensuring in demand items do not go out of stock and adequate stock is ordered. Monitor when items are not selling well.
  • Responsible for reordering items on an as needed basis.
  • Work with Director of Operations to identify trends and new products.
  • Oversee daily and weekly staff schedules to meet labor budgets and costs.
  • Monitor sales and store metrics and the impacts of events and initiatives.
  • Train and develop new hires. Work with retail store leadership to complete training schedules for new hires ensuring new employees receive adequate training within their first days/week. Retail Store Manager (Planning and Administrative) is responsible for training in various systems including, but not limited to, POS system and time management software, general store rules and responsibilities, and The Weaver Way.
  • Work in tandem with the Retail Store Manager, Operations and Service, to ensure employee performance reviews are completely in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for employee relations such as conflict resolution, performance improvement plans (PIP) when necessary, and any disciplinary matters.
  • Develop staff which includes, but not limited to, team development, identifying skill gaps, cross training, and monitoring staff chemistry.
  • Promote a customer first environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of The Weaver Way.
  • Responsible for customer service standards and company image; including ensuring all dress code standards are met.
  • Ensure that all employees are meeting customer service expectations.
  • Handle customer issues and/or concerns as they may arise.
  • Expected to work in the store on the floor, as necessary.
