About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Store Manager to lead associates, assist customers, and drive store sales. This role involves managing and overseeing all aspects of business operations to maximize sales and profitability, delegating store activities for smooth daily operations, and leading, training, and developing store associates to foster a culture of growth. The manager is also responsible for providing a positive shopping experience, safeguarding company assets, building strong community relationships through outreach and partnerships, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, enforcing company policies and procedures, and implementing operational and merchandising directions from corporate headquarters. The position is full-time and offers opportunities to connect with people and build a career, with the company invested in employee health and wellness. Managers may also be required to provide background information for specialized licenses to sell alcohol and/or tobacco, where applicable.

Requirements

  • Ability to focus on results and build strong relationships with team members is required
  • Excellent communication skills are required
  • Ability to regularly lift, up to 40 lbs. (occasionally 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height is required
  • Ability to handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Ability to comply and/or qualify for specialized licenses for selling alcohol and/or tobacco if required by local jurisdiction

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Retail management experience is preferred

  • Follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as may be required by their supervisor
  • Provide certain detailed background information necessary to obtain a license to sell alcoholic beverages / tobacco products, if required by local jurisdiction
