Opening our newest location in Pike Place allows us to continue our goal of selling locally-made goods and the work of independently-owned businesses and makers with values that align with ours. We are looking for a Store Manager to help bring our mission and values to life at our new Pike Place location opening soon! The Store Manager is responsible for driving a customer-focused, sales driven, profitable, and productive store team. They are responsible for financial, sales, and operational results that lead to their store’s profitability. They inspire and motivate others by modeling TLE’s core values and promoting retention by developing the talent in their store. This role directly oversees the store staff and works with the Retail District Manager and Director of Operations to define store goals and team priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Minimum three years in a specialty retail and/or customer service role.
  • Minimum three years in a leadership or management position, directly supervising a team of at least ten employees.
  • Ability to work full time including variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/ or holidays.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage conflict.
  • Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Capable of clearly communicating with others.
  • Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Empathetic leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Superb organizational and time-management skills
  • Competent computer literacy and comfort using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications.
  • Familiarity with inventory control practices and logistics.
  • Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.
  • In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the retail stores.
  • Physical strength, stamina and the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work between multiple TLE locations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the performance management and accountability of store staff by coaching and providing constructive performance feedback.
  • Manages recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of store staff to meet staffing needs and labor budget.
  • Ensures the store meets standard operating procedures, policies, and operational guidelines to drive customer satisfaction, employee productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Meets contribution margin by driving sales and controlling expenses.
  • Reviews and processes payroll on time while maintaining labor budgets.
  • Engages with cross-functional team leaders to support company and department goals and priorities.
  • Maintains partnership with the Marketing and Creative Teams to influence and deliver on our store branding and visual expectations.
  • Fosters community relationships with neighboring businesses and local organizations.
  • Maintains all store facilities and technology while maintaining a strong partnership with all service providers, building operators, and/or landlords.
  • Leads the staff to meet all customer service, brand, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
  • Reviews and reports on retail key performance metrics weekly and monthly and identifies trends and opportunities for driving store and team success.
  • Overcomes operational challenges as they emerge.
  • Maintains a regular, full-time on-site presence at the store to support store operations, staff, and customers; Aiming to be on-site at each location during core business hours to meet operational needs.
