About The Position

The Retail Store Lead plays a critical role in creating a positive experience for customers while upholding the company's values and commitment to quality. The Retail Store Lead provides exceptional customer service and oversees the daily operations of the retail store and its team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely fulfillment and invoicing of orders via phone, email, and website, including donation requests. Additionally, this position is responsible for accurate inventory replenishment and rotation as well as daily cash reconciliation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency (GED) is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of prior retail, customer service, or food handling experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, coaches, and develops team members across the retail function, including scheduling, delegating, and training.
  • Ensures productivity goals and expectations are met by directing work activities of the retail store team. Conduct performance check-ins and feedback conversations to reinforce expectations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates cross-functional collaboration between support staff, production, and the retail store.
  • Places supply orders to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Defines stock levels, tracks stock rotation, and adjusts stock and order levels accordingly.
  • Manages supplier and vendor relationships, ensuring quality and on-time and in-full delivery.
  • Resolves routine supplier challenges and escalates shortages that may impact order fulfillment
  • Receives and stocks incoming deliveries; prepare and ship custom orders.
  • Updates system pricing accurately and on schedule.
  • Accurately enters and maintains data in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Point-of-Sale (POS), and shipping systems.
  • Oversees daily cash reconciliation and provides till support to the retail store team.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety procedures when handling products.
  • Greets and assists in-person customers, delivering a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Provides product knowledge, recommendations, and samples to enhance the customer experience.
  • Operates the POS system, including handling cash, credit, and electronic transactions with accuracy and integrity. Maintains strict adherence to company policies and demonstrate trusted responsibility in managing financial transactions.
  • Manages and processes phone, email, donation, and online customer orders in the ERP system.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, reporting, and securing the store.
  • Cuts, weighs, wraps, and labels cheese products while ensuring accuracy and food safety standards.
  • Prepares and maintains product sample trays to highlight offerings for customers.
  • Cleans and sanitizes counters, equipment, and display areas daily; performs deep cleaning and sanitizing on a scheduled basis.
