About The Position
Join our growing team at Ocean State Job Lot, the northeast's largest closeout retailer, as we open a new store location in Avon, MA! The Store Lead Merchandiser plays a crucial role in crafting visually appealing store environments, ensuring that our customers have exceptional experiences. This position is vital for both established locations and new or remodeled stores within a designated market. You will collaborate closely with store leadership, territory Senior Merchandisers, and the corporate Merchandising Department to ensure alignment with Company initiatives, brand standards, and best practices in visual merchandising and operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining visually impactful merchandising that aligns with Company standards and strategies. This includes participating in company merchandising training and executing planograms, plan-o-guides, and visuals effectively. You will also be tasked with implementing merchandise plans that consider category space needs and adjacency, completing all assigned tasks efficiently, and participating in overall store operations and merchandising. Your collaboration with Store Leadership will be essential for ad product placement and presentation, as well as conducting daily walk-throughs to address issues such as price reductions, flyers, Crazy Deals, and internet coupons. You will review merchandise reports and analyses to optimize merchandising and drive sales while ensuring responsible handling of Company assets. Additionally, you will assist in training, mentorship, and guidance for associates on Company merchandising practices, fostering a positive learning environment. Upholding safety and maintenance standards is also a key part of your responsibilities, along with performing cleaning and janitorial tasks as needed. You may also be required to assemble store fixtures and signage according to Company standards and operate a cash register as needed. Your role will promote Company-wide customer engagement campaigns and involve various merchandising tasks such as ticketing, cutting cases, lifting merchandise, hanging signage, and displaying merchandise. Travel to stores within the assigned region may be necessary as needed.
