About The Position

As a team member at Michaels, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including kids' birthday parties, to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. You will deliver friendly customer service by assisting customers in shopping and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience. Your role will also involve completing operational tasks such as truck unloading, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold our Brand Promises. You will engage with clients of all ages, create an environment of fun and creativity, and ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events while upholding the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.

• Strong organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages and create an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and perform face painting.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails and making phone calls.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans as needed.
• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
• Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
• Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities.
