About The Position

We are recruiting for a part-time team member at the AMain Hobbies Retail store. The Retail Team Member is a key contributor to the daily operations, customer experience, and overall success of the AMain Hobbies store. This role requires strong product knowledge, reliability, and the ability to support store leadership in driving sales, maintaining store standards, and executing operational processes. Part-Time Team Members play an essential part in creating an engaging, educational, and fun environment for customers of all ages.

Requirements

  • Passion and enthusiasm for hobbies and RC.
  • Strong communication and customer engagement skills.
  • Comfortable learning technical product details and teaching them to customers.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to stand, move, climb ladders, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be available for weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
  • Flexibility required for resets, events, and seasonal workload.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail experience preferred, especially in specialty retail or customer-focused environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service to every customer.
  • Engage customers in conversation to understand their needs and provide expert recommendations.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge of RC products.
  • Assist customers with product troubleshooting, compatibility questions, and in-store demonstrations when appropriate.
  • Accurately operate the Point of Sale system for all transactions (sales, returns, special orders, gift cards).
  • Follow all cash-handling procedures, deposit processes, and store security protocols.
  • Complete daily operational tasks such as opening/closing duties, cleaning, stocking, and maintaining store standards.
  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, labeling, and organizing incoming merchandise.
  • Maintain merchandising standards according to planograms and brand guidelines.
  • Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Support promotional and seasonal resets.
  • Maintain accurate and organized back-stock areas.
  • Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and product location accuracy.
  • Communicate inventory issues, gaps, or opportunities to store leadership.
  • Assist with ordering and restocking based on movement and best sellers.
  • Demonstrate the “AMain Way”: exceptional service, passion for hobbies, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with peers and store leadership to achieve sales, margin, and labor goals.
  • Support training of new team members when needed.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic, solutions-focused attitude.
