About The Position

Belstra Farm and Garden is an independent retail store specializing in farm products and garden supplies. We are currently looking for an outgoing, customer service-oriented person who can help run the storefront operations. This opportunity is for a reliable and highly motivated individual. This person must work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to be standing for extended periods
• Climb ladders and stairs and work at heights with good body balance
• Occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, etc.
• Work with variety of products and materials including feeds, seeds, plants, vegetables and landscape supplies
• Withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Regularly required to talk and listen when interacting with customers and other employees
• Ability to work alone or as a team
• Ability to work weekends and increased seasonal hours
• Strong communication skills
• High school diploma or G.E.D.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
• Experience and knowledge in farm or garden products, but not required

Responsibilities

• Run cash register and sales transactions
• Stock shelves and monitor inventory
• Willingness to learn about product lines
• Willingness to ask and answer customer questions
• General housekeeping of store and common area
• Capable of completing tasks correctly while focusing on quality, service, and safety
