About The Position

The Store Associate position is a part-time role offering 10-20 hours per week, with a pay range of $13.00 to $14.00 per hour. The associate will be responsible for recommending merchandise based on knowledge of current product offerings and industry trends, encouraging purchases that best suit customers' needs. The role requires upholding standards in cleanliness, merchandise handling, store presentation, loss prevention, and other duties as directed by management. Collaboration with team members to enhance service levels, reduce theft, and exceed sales targets is essential. The associate will also develop and sustain relationships with customers to increase repeat business, track and analyze personal sales performance, and ensure the sales floor is well-stocked and properly presented. Accurate use of the point-of-sale system to record and complete sales is required, along with following all policies regarding cash handling and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of retail, customer service, or sales experience.
  • Keen attention to detail, including observational skills, patience, and active listening.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong drive and willingness to learn from experiences and take feedback from management.
  • Proficiency in comprehending and successfully using point-of-sale and scheduling systems.
  • Up to 25 hours worked per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available for three or more weekend shifts.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, climb, reach, bend, and move items up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend merchandise based on knowledge of current product offerings and industry trends.

  • Examine the sales floor to ensure merchandise is well-stocked, visible, and properly rotated.
  • Accurately use the point-of-sale system to record and complete sales.
  • Conclude a thorough and unforgettable experience by securely bagging and wrapping all purchases.
  • Follow all policies regarding cash handling, security practices, ID checks, and other operational procedures.
