Requirements

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or continuing high school studies.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and follow company policies and procedures.
• Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
• Requisition merchandise from the warehouse based on available space, merchandise on hand, customer demand, or advertised specials.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise, checking shipping tickets against items received.
• Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to picking tickets.
• Stock storage areas and displays with new or transferred merchandise.
• Set up advertising signs and display merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales.
• Clean display cases, coolers, shelves, restrooms, aisles, and back room areas.
• Breakdown and remove cardboard from the store.
• Unload delivery trucks and pack customer purchases in bags.
• Transport packages to specified vehicles for customers and retrieve buggies from the parking lot.
