As a Retail Specialist, ensures the smooth operation Kaweah’s retail environment. Manages cash handling, supports staff during peak hours, covers shifts for call-outs, and maintains high standards through quality assurance and staff training. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification within six months of hire/transfer.
  • One year of experience in a high volume, fast-paced, casual dining restaurant or similar experience in a hospitality or institutional setting.
  • Hospitality and/or health care experience.
  • Working knowledge of local and state sanitation inspection programs.
  • Knowledge of retail pricing, displays, and inventory control practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and staff effectively.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and provide instructions to new employees.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions quickly, especially during peak times or staff shortages.
  • Skills in training new employees, including explaining procedures and providing feedback to enhance performance.
  • Ability to take initiative, demonstrate reliability, and lead by example, particularly when training new staff or covering shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately handle cash transactions, process refunds, and ensure the cash register is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Assist and support staff during high-traffic periods to maintain optimal service levels and address customer needs promptly.
  • Provide coverage for staff call-outs and absences, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet operational needs.
  • Train new staff on positions and mentor the staff members effectively.
  • Skills in training new employees, including explaining procedures and providing feedback to enhance performance.
  • Monitor and maintain QA logs to ensure compliance with company standards and address any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Train new staff members on company policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing assistance as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and monitoring for any discrepancies.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of store operations, including maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
