About The Position

At New Horizons Thrift Stores, our cause is to help create life change through second chances, one purchase, one life at a time. The Shoe Associate supports the Shoe Team Lead by completing assigned tasks to keep the shoe department stocked, organized, and clean. By maintaining high standards in presentation, quality, and service, this role helps create a joyful thrifting experience through high-quality finds, fair pricing, and friendly service. Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties.

• Navigation- Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.
• Word Processing- Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents.
• Databases- Using a computer application to manage large amounts of information, including creating and editing simple databases, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information.
• No previous experience or training required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned tasks from the Shoe Team Lead in a timely manner
• Follows direction and shift priorities as given
• Communicates when tasks are completed or if issues arise
• Stocks shoes to the sales floor as directed
• Keeps shoes organized by size and type
• Maintains orderly racks and minimizes clutter
• Keeps the shoe area clean throughout the shift
• Removes trash, loose items, and misplaced product
• Maintains a neat and safe work area
• Checks that shoes are matched and in wearable condition
• Pulls out damaged or incomplete items when identified
• Brings any concerns to the Shoe Team Lead
• Operates the register when assigned
• Completes floater tasks to support other departments as needed
• Helps maintain overall store readiness beyond the shoe department

• This is a non-exempt full-time position.
• Overtime pay rate applies for time worked over 40 hours per week.

• Paid vacation begins to accrue after 30 days.
• Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month.
