About The Position

Goodwill NCW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating people by eliminating barriers to employment, transforming lives through skill building for sustained employment and improved financial stability. The Retail Shift Leader provides oversight, guidance, and support to team members under the direction of the Store Manager. This role involves training, coaching, and developing team members' skills, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, and demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic retail setting. Key responsibilities include supporting store operations such as opening and closing, maintaining a consistent presence to engage with both team members and customers, and ensuring effective communication within the store leadership team and with all team members.

Requirements

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • At least a basic level of competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with common reporting and dashboard tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends, with regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.

  • 1+ year(s) of retail leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight, guidance, and support to team members as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Leads team members by assisting with training, coaching and developing skills.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency while remaining adaptable in a dynamic environment, supporting a wide range of tasks including opening and closing the store.
  • Maintains a consistent presence throughout store while engaging with team members and customers.
  • Communicates with store leadership team and team members in a way that promotes an effective and consistent flow of information throughout the store.
  • Other duties as assigned.
