About The Position

The Retail Shift Lead at Pet Food Express is responsible for coaching customers and leading Sales Associates in daily retail operations. This role emphasizes providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for both pets and their owners. The Lead Sales Consultant will work closely with field leadership to foster a supportive work environment and drive sales through effective team management and product knowledge.

Requirements

• A passion for pets and people.
• Leadership experience, preferably in a retail setting; pet retail experience is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn and ambition for growth.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds following safety rules.
• Ability to climb and balance using a ladder or step stool.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and engage in repetitive motions throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Actively approach and engage with customers, both human and pet.
• Answer customer questions about specific products.
• Provide tailored recommendations using the PFE Whole Life Approach.
• Participate in and lead daily training and educational programs to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
• Stay informed about new products and the pet community, sharing knowledge with the team.
• Lead Sales Associates through store opening and closing procedures.
• Operate the cash register efficiently and friendly.
• Oversee the unloading of shipments, restocking, and product placement while maintaining visual standards.
• Regularly clean and maintain the store, including sweeping and mopping.
• Support a culture of honesty and awareness of loss prevention.
