About The Position

The Security Officer at Capital City Mall is responsible for providing security detail as outlined in the post orders and establishing working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel must maintain a constant awareness of their surroundings, noting all activity in the assigned area while performing their duties with a professional image and excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
• Must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen.
• Minimum 3 to 6 months prior experience in loss prevention, life safety, CCTV systems, or access computer systems.
• State Guard license is required.

Responsibilities

• Control entrances and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol buildings and perimeters.
• Escort material and personnel.
• Inspect security and fire exposures.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports, and all relevant reports related to job assignment.
• Monitor cameras or equipment continuously as outlined in the post orders.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Make recommendations to management on better safety and loss prevention processes.
• Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and other agencies.
• Communicate daily with the Security Supervisor about new security issues or changes.
