About The Position

Securitas is looking for a Retail Security Officer to work part-time in Salt Lake City, UT. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in military or law enforcement, as we encourage former military and law enforcement personnel to apply. The role involves working weekends only, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 PM to 11 PM. Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma, GED, or ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
• Standard computer and technology skills.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills are a plus.
• Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner.
• Great attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout the shift.
• Ability to respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• Willingness to participate in the company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Secure entrances and exits.
• Conduct patrols inside and outside the client's premises in various weather conditions.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Set up barriers and signage and provide direction or information to others.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
