About The Position

The Retail Salesperson is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting shoppers in finding and purchasing products. This role involves maintaining product knowledge, operating point-of-sale systems, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and fully stocked. This role is critical to maintaining the luxury standard and reputation of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa while upholding the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate POS systems and basic computer functions.
  • Able to stand, walk, and lift merchandise (up to 30 lbs) for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and create a welcoming shopping experience.
  • Assist customers in locating products and making purchase decisions.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products and services.
  • Process transactions accurately using POS systems, including handling cash, credit, and returns.
  • Maintain visual merchandising and restock shelves as needed.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally.
  • Participate in inventory counts and loss prevention measures.
  • Stay informed of promotions, policies, and procedures.
