The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) located at the Indianapolis, IN , VA Medical Center, is seeking Retail Associates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are committed to serving America’s Heroes Duties: Assists customer in locating products & provides detailed information to enhance their shopping experience. Handles sales transactions efficiently using a cash register, ensuring accuracy & customer satisfaction. Restocks merchandise and ensures products are properly labeled for display. Maintains a clean & organized store environment, ensuring a pleasant & efficient shopping experience. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements
- A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending.
- Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment.
- It is a requirement that all HCP receive the annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in the service industry is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with retail software and point-of-sale systems is a plus.
