About The Position

To process the sales of Girl Scout merchandise while meeting the needs of girls, adult members, employed staff and visitors. To ensure the satisfaction of each customer while preserving the Girl Scout Mission. Sales associates should be fun, genuine and team-oriented individuals who contribute to store sales and guest satisfaction goals by providing individual and groups of guests a unique and memorable "WOW" experience. Providing this experience includes, but is not limited to, working in a retail store, hosting store events, Build-A-Bear Workshops, work at other GSWCF store locations, pop up events and more. Must enjoy a high energy environment and demonstrates an appreciation for adults and children of all age and should have a flexible schedule that include working every Saturday and occasional Sundays and evenings.

Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 25 and able to drive a company cargo van.
  • Bondable with experience in retail and cash handling.
  • Strong mathematical and general accounting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with customers and co-workers.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and courteous.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel, and ability to operate a cash register.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to compile sales reports.
  • Reliable transportation, clear driving record, and proof of insurance.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to work additional shifts as needed
  • Understanding and acceptance of the principles of the Girl Scout movement. Must be willing to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Girl Scout Program Portfolio is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the retail store during advertised hours for both the Leadership Center and mobile locations, including camps.
  • Process transactions (cash, credit, checks) and issue receipts, refunds, credits, or exchanges.
  • Provide exceptional service to customers (Girl Scouts, staff, and visitors) while promoting a positive image of Girl Scouting.
  • Educate customers on the Girl Scout Program and appropriate usage of uniforms and insignia.
  • Assist customers in selecting and showcasing merchandise.
  • Use creative merchandising techniques to ensure an inviting store atmosphere.
  • Maintain inventory levels and inform the Director of Retail Operations about stock status.
  • Receive, price, and stock merchandise according to packing lists provided by vendors. Ensure timely inventory updates in the POS system.
  • Conduct inventory counts
  • Communicate customer feedback or concerns to the Director of Retail Operations.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate special events or mobile store operations.
  • Prepare daily sales reports and make weekly bank deposits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
