About The Position

The Retail Salesperson will assist customers with purchasing merchandise.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold.
  • Ability to anticipate customers’ needs.
  • Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail experience preferred.
  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with customers.
  • Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
  • Sells to customers using suggestive selling, and tie-in selling and upselling.
  • Rotate stock when new merchandise comes in
  • Ensure sales areas are kept neat, clean, dusted, and inventory in the correct place.
  • Ensure merchandise has proper tags and labeling.
  • Ensure back stock is kept neat and orderly, checked, and stocked daily.
  • Maintain end caps and rotate end cap merchandise once a month.
  • Thorough knowledge about how to place special orders and utilize the Do It Best Catalog.
  • Place orders and assist charge customers with questions and issues.
  • Compliance with Hacienda uniform policy.
  • Ongoing completion of online training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
