Members can shop in clubs, online, or with curbside pickup. The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for executing Acquisition 365, renewing, upgrading, and cross-selling BJ’s Loyalty Programs. This role also handles merchandise returns, exchanges, pick-ups, and general customer service inquiries, providing excellent and efficient member service. Team members are expected to carry out assigned job functions, support club policies and compliance, act with honesty and integrity, ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively, achieve goals, move with speed and agility, innovate, adapt, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude. The role involves delivering service excellence, resolving member concerns, and ensuring a safe and positive experience for members. Daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards includes greeting, anticipating, and appreciating members, and being fast and friendly. Club Standards involve working as a team to deliver a 'Grand opening look daily,' ensuring all items are stocked, promotional plans are executed, signage is accurate, and the club is clean and organized. The associate should also understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for their department and see the connection between consistent execution and positive business impact.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Prior front line/customer service or previous sales experience.

  • Promoting the BJ’s value proposition regarding acquisition, retention, perks, and the Member experience.
  • Converting potential members by actively and effectively pitching all membership programs in accordance with company policies and practices.
  • Selling BJ’s membership products to potential new and existing members with high energy and determination.
  • Driving toward goal achievement, defined by business established benchmarks and results.
  • Exhibiting clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options, and Co-Brand credit card.
  • Delivering superior customer service to Members by serving as a first line point-of-contact regarding membership, credit card applications, general questions, issues, merchandise returns, exchanges, product look up, and pick-ups.
  • Following tax exempt/resale membership policies in regard to the retention processes and procedures, including monitoring membership renewals and tax-exempt/resale status.
  • Resolving Member concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Escalating issues to PIC and MOD when necessary.
  • Assisting with BOPIC (Buy Online and Pick Up In Club) orders for members.
  • Maintaining all club policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
