About The Position

A Retail Sales Associate is responsible for sales activities and sales associate job duties, from greeting customers, answering questions, offering assistance, suggesting items, lending opinions and providing product information. Individual responsibilities as a Retail Sales Associate may include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, keeping the selling floor stocked with merchandise, assisting in display of merchandise or organizing the selling floor and stock areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Basic operating knowledge of the Microsoft Suite.
• Sales/Retail experience preferred.
• Ability to fluently speak both English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Most importantly, having a passion for music and music education.
• Skills: Customer Service, Self-Starter, Multi-tasking, Problem Solving, Customer Focused, Organized, Productive.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers by greeting them; offering them assistance.
• Directs customers by escorting them to product displays; suggesting items.
• Advises customers by providing information on products.
• Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and store or other credit cards.
• Assists education reps with processing of paperwork for band instrument repairs.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the workspace and show floor areas.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
