About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate at the Sunshine Store in Mountain Village, CO, is responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience while adhering to company policies and safety initiatives. This role involves various tasks including operating the point of sale (POS) system, performing cashier functions, assisting with inventory management, and promoting retail shop sales. Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months minimum of retail experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn point of sale systems, inventory systems, basic accounting, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Know and enforce safety initiatives consistent with company guidelines.
• Support Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
• Adhere to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
• Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain.
• Be proficient in POS operations including opening and closing procedures.
• Perform cashier functions: operate cash register; take payment and return correct change; process credit card payments along with returns and shipping fees as needed.
• Provide a fun guest experience that exceeds members/guests expectations.
• Receive goods, tagging, transferring.
• Assist in inventory counts as needed and re-counts.
• Create pull-lists as needed and assure proper communication to warehouse staff.
• Collect warehouse items and receive into store with accurate transfer in POS.
• Prepare the shipping of product as needed.
• Check voicemail for new messages and return any calls that are appropriate.
• Assist with the promotion and execution of retail shop sales.
• Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
• Clean shelves, counters, floors and merchandise as needed.
• Answer customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift and complete a deposit slip to drop off at a company safe at the end of each daily shift.
• Refer customer problems and complaints to manager or other senior staff member if appropriate.
• Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned.
• Promote products by wearing clothing lines while working in stores.
