About The Position

Vanderloop Shoes is looking for motivated Retail Sales Associates to join their team. The role involves selling footwear and accessories in a retail environment, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers, and collaborating with the store manager to maintain an inviting store atmosphere. Associates will be responsible for understanding customer needs, providing product knowledge, and driving sales to contribute to the company's revenue growth.

Requirements

• Previous experience in sales (retail sales preferred but not required)
• Good computer skills, experience with point of sales systems is a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build rapport with customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong self motivation to research, learn, and retain a large product line and individual account requirements
• Ability to bend and kneel repeatedly throughout the day to help customers try on footwear
• Ability to reach above head, stand on ladder and lift 15-25 pounds to get inventory off shelves and re-display store

Responsibilities

• Welcome and identify customer needs and be able to close a sale on retail floor
• Explain products, services and other merchandise to customers
• Monitor inventory to ensure product is in stock
• Enter and process customer orders
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints
• Use computer applications (point of sale) to process sales and maintain customer records
• Change store displays and up-keep of merchandise on sales floor (clean shelves, counters, redo displays etc...)
• Help customers try on footwear
• Open/close the store and perform related duties
• Stay updated on current or future sales
• Teach and learn from others about new sales techniques or new footwear on retail floor
